Pittsburgh Behavioral Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to improving the quality of life for individuals and families through research-validated methods. We provide a wide range of services in academic, clinical, and community-based settings. Our licensed private academic school serves students in grades K-7. We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals who are eager to work with children and grow professionally as part of a mission-driven team.
Position Overview:
This unique role offers opportunities to work in a classroom setting with embedded clinical support. Our students are well supported across aspect of their needs; including educational and clinical. As a Classroom Assistant , you will: Support students in achieving academic and behavioral goals Collect data, track progress, and communicate with families and team members Collaborate with staff, clinicians, and caregivers to ensure consistency in care Provide direct instruction and implement individualized strategies Assist in creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment supporting students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the supervision of a certified teacher
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license and auto insurance Up-to-date PA clearances (FBI, State Police, Child Abuse) and
Mandated Reporter Certificate Preferred:
Education or experience in one or more of the following: Education, Special Education, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Human Services, or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Other Requirements:
Physical ability to meet job demands: standing, sitting, walking, running, lifting, and carrying Flexibility to work in both indoor and outdoor environments Availability during non-traditional hours as required by the program
