OVERVIEW
The ECS Assistant Teacher has a strong interest in problem based learning, small group instruction, differentiation, and supporting the instructional needs of the lead teacher. The ECS Assistant Teacher works collaboratively with classroom teachers, special educators, building specialists, and the Building Leadership Team to provide rigorous and engaging learning opportunities. Candidates should be energetic and progressive minded, with a willingness to work collaboratively with building staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with teachers to support and reinforce compelling, standards-based lessons that challenge students’ critical thinking and align with lesson, unit, and grade-level objectives Support a positive, achievement-oriented, and structured learning environment in which all students can experience success Actively engage with the school community by attending annual ECS events such as Earth Night, Back to School Night, Enrollment Events and Curriculum Nights Fully participate in opportunities for professional growth Become familiar with student IEP goals and report progress regarding student performance and behavior to supervising teacher Educational Background and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and PA teaching certification Experience with students grades 3-5 desirable Familiarity with charter schools Compensation and Benefits $100.00 per day plus participation in 403b retirement plan after completing 400 hours
