Reservoir Road, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 As a Pre-K Counts Assistant Teacher at The Blair Regional YMCA, you will be part of a team delivering a developmentally appropriate curriculum in alignment with our YMCA mission and philosophy. Your role involves supporting a welcoming and enriching classroom experience that caters to the unique needs of children and their families. The Blair Regional YMCA Early Learning Center is DHS licensed and PA Keystone Stars 4 rated center.

Core Responsibilities:

Assist in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum as outlined by the program coordinator (currently using Frog Street Preschool) Work collaboratively with lead teacher, classroom staff, and administration Emphasize social-emotional learning in the classroom environment Engage in regular play-based interactions with children Ability to implement Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Curriculum Ability to incorporate Conscious Discipline as classroom management method Adhere to all regulations set forth by partners at DHS & Keystone STARS Maintain 24 professional development hours annually Adhere to YMCA and DHS supervision standards during Pre-K Counts Instructional & Wrap Around Services.

Qualifications:

BA/BS in ECE, Child Development or related field (preferred) 2 years experience or CDA/Associate’s Degree in ECE or releated field (required) Early Childhood classroom experience Current state and federal clearances (through Department of Human Services) Physical (including TB test) A passion for early learning, including working with children, staff, and families A passion for play-based early education A firm understanding of social-emotional development

Job Type:

Full-time, 12 month position

Pay Range:

$14.00-$17.00 per hour
