Pay:

$16.00 to $18.40 / hour – depending on education Job Summary Assists instructor in all aspects of classroom management and instruction. Maintains consistency in the classroom and fills in as a substitute instructor during a regular instructor’s absence; utilizing subnotebooks to provide care related to programming, supervision, and physical needs. Maintains all necessary records of client data and documentation including behavior tracking, progress on goals, attendance, and client payroll.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities Assists the instructor in all aspects of daily care while at Holland, including activities, client supervision and data/documentation. Responsible to check and sign the daily assignment schedule. Fills in as a substitute, running classrooms in an instructor’s absence. Responsible for the maintenance of consistent records of client behavior, attendance, progress on program goals and all other required paperwork. For senior classrooms, records 15 minute log checks of adaptive equipment. For work readiness classrooms, maintain client payroll and ensure accurate and timely completion of all clients work assignments. Assists clients in all aspects of self care as necessary or as stipulated by the ISP. Utilizing adaptive equipment, where recommended, to assist the client in the acquisition of skills to enhance performance in specific tasks. Assists in the implementation of individual behavioral programs as appropriate, in accordance with Woods Services Behavior Management Policy. Assists in providing ongoing assistance, instruction, and supervision as required during client mealtime activities. Ensure the correct diet consistency and any diet orders are followed. Ensure any ordered supplements are offered. Assists with client arrival to and dismissal from Holland. 8. Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Maintains effective working relationships with management and co-workers. Page 2 of 2

Job Description:

Instructional Aide Attends and participates in training sessions, staff and/or client meetings, in-service trainings and special assignments, as required. Displays professionalism and maintains effective relationships with all levels of staff and management. Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent Must have a minimum of one year’s experience working with adults with developmental disabilities Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, be agile, physically pursue clients on foot, physically restrain, bend, squat, stretch, reach, push up and stand for several hours at a time Must be able to read, write, enter dates and follow verbal/written directions, prepare written reports and complete written forms in English Must be able to verbally communicate in English and direct clients, respond to clients’ needs.
