Job Description
Kennett Consolidated School District is seeking an Instructional Support Teacher who will nurture, prepare, and empower ALL students and staff to succeed in their academic, social, and emotional journey. A teacher who exhibits a belief in the importance of relationships and resiliency through a student-centered approach will be able to successfully support the district’s mission and vision. Kennett’s uniquely diverse student population makes applicants considered to be fluent or bilingual highly sought. Applicants with at least three (3) Spanish courses at the college/university level or who have a command of conversational Spanish are encouraged to apply.

JOB GOAL

The Instructional Support Teacher will provide collaborative support to students, staff and parents to maximize student achievement.

QUALIFICATIONS

A valid PA Teaching Certificate
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a teacher
Current Acts 34, 114, 151 and 168

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides professional development and leadership in the areas of data collection, response to differentiation, and the implementation of accommodations, modifications and interventions that enable students to be successful in all academic content standards
Provides collaborative services to staff and models effective instructional practices
Assists staff in learning and implementing various assessment strategies
Works in collaboration with all staff to problem solve and identify innovative, practical, and effective differentiation strategies to meet student learning needs
Conducts formal student observations and gathers data for multidisciplinary evaluations
Participates in parent conferences, and other forms of professional communication
Provides support to students in general education area as assigned
Follows and implements intervention plan processes to provide service and support to students to meet school goals or intervention plan goals
Assists with collecting and recording observational data related to academic progress or behavior management
Documents student progress toward meeting established objectives
Performs all other duties as required and assigned
