Category Schools – Paraprofessional Job Type Contract A Personal Care Assistant (PCA) opportunity is available for the Extended School Year (ESY) program supporting a high school student with blindness. This part-time role offers hands-on experience while supporting student independence and learning in a dedicated educational environment.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays Hours:

8:30 AM – 11:30

AM Duration:

Immediate start through July 24, 2025

Summer Casual Position:

1:1 PCA for a blind high school student

Key Responsibilities:

Provide personalized care and assistance tailored to the needs of a blind high school student in a classroom setting Support the student’s daily routines, safety, and engagement with instructional activities Facilitate communication and mobility to promote independence Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure consistent support aligned with the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Maintain a respectful, attentive, and professional approach at all times

Desired Qualifications:

Experience working with students who have visual impairments or similar disabilities preferred Ability to follow instructions and adapt support to individual student needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience, reliability, and dedication to fostering student growth Previous paraprofessional or personal care assistant experience is a plus
