The Upper Darby School District is seeking applicants for a full-time Special Education Teacher (Learning Support/Intake Coordinator) position at Upper Darby High School.

Qualifications:

PA Instructional Certificate (Special Education PK-12)

BA required in appropriate major study
Knowledge and understanding of IDEA and Chapter 14 requirements
Ability to use instructional materials and equipment
Knowledge of child growth and development
Instructional skills
Problem solving skills
Planning Skills
Human Relations Skills
Strong communication and motivational skills
Ability to effectively communicate with, instruct, and work with students, staff and parents/guardians

Job Goal:

To participate, as a member of the instructional staff, in ensuring a seamless transition and immediate continuity of special education services for exceptional students who enroll with Upper Darby High School from other educational settings by efficiently reviewing, amending, and adopting incoming special education documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations. The Learning Support Intake Coordinator collaborates with building and central administration to develop and implement Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE), thereby supporting successful transition into Upper Darby High School’s academic and special education programs.
