Autistic Support Teacher Position Available In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

OF POSITION

• Special Education Teacher of Life Skills and Autistic Support teacher is the lead teacher in the Life Skills/Autistic Support classroom. This position reports directly to the Special Education Supervisor.

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education
• completed or in progress
• Communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Federal, state, and child abuse background checks required
• Minimum one year experience working with students with autism and intellectual disabilities

• KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS

• Responsible for development and coordination of individualized academic, behavioral and social programming
• Determine student progress by collecting and monitoring appropriate data
• Able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Possess a caring nature while teaching the students with autism and intellectual disabilities
• Good communication skills to facilitate positive family interactions
• Create and implement appropriate and engaging lessons designed to meet the individual needs of students
• Able to adapt to change
• Supervise instructional support staff within your classroom
