The assistant works collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and families to promote student success through academic guidance, restorative interventions, and proactive engagement strategies. They support classroom instruction, school operations, and student conduct, ensuring equitable access to all opportunities and resources. Key Responsibilities1. Academic Support Assist teachers in delivering lesson plans and instructional materials. Provide individualized and small-group instruction to support differentiated learning. Monitor and support students with classwork, homework, and assessments. Help manage classroom environments to maintain positivity and respect. Supervise students in common areas (hallways, cafeteria, transitions). Take attendance, maintain documentation, and support academic progress tracking. 2. Behavior & Student Culture Reinforce school‑wide behavioral expectations and restorative practices. Build trusting relationships to proactively address behavior concerns. Assist with documenting and reporting minor disciplinary incidents. Monitor behavior intervention plans and ensure follow-through. Support attendance initiatives and reduce disciplinary infractions. Serve as a liaison among students, families, and staff for social-emotional support. 3. Community Engagement & Culture Building Model professionalism, compassion, and high expectations. Foster respectful and supportive interactions among all school community members. Help coordinate family engagement events and collaborative communication. Participate in school walkthroughs, offering insights on climate and culture. Collaborate in staff training on restorative practices and student engagement. 4. Professional Expectations Attend and actively participate in PD days, planning sessions, family events, open houses, and graduation. Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards. Demonstrate flexibility, growth mindset, and collaborative spirit. Perform additional duties as assigned by Principal, CEO, or Support Team Leader. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Human Services, or related field (preferred). Experience with adolescents in educational, youth development, or behavior support settings. B.C.I. clearance and fingerprinting required. Training or experience in restorative practices and
MTSS/RTI
preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual abilities preferred. Excellent time management and multitasking in dynamic environments. Familiarity with educational software (PowerSchool, Naviance, etc.) is a plus.
