Job Description Summary:

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Rhode Island invites applications for a full-time Teaching Professor (open rank) position beginning Academic Year 2025-2026. The rank will be consistent with demonstrated experience. The successful candidate will teach one to three sections of lecture or laboratory courses per semester. The course assignments will Organic Chemistry (lecture or lab) and may include General Chemistry; General, Organic and Biological Chemistry; or upper-level elective as well as the corresponding laboratory courses.

Qualifications Required:

1. A Ph.D. in organic chemistry is required by the start of appointment. 2. Demonstrated evidence of teaching effectiveness (preferably at the collegiate level). 3. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. 4. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills 5. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of students. 6. Experience supervising laboratory teaching assistants. 7. Prior teaching experience (including TA) in Organic Chemistry (college level).

Preferred:

1. Prior teaching experience in General Chemistry (college level). 2.
