You’ll be an essential part of our dynamic workforce as an independent contractor, ready to respond and commute to on-site work opportunities at nearby K-12 schools and nonprofits via the BrightBee app. You’ll be able to pick which work assignments match your experience, preferences, and schedule and will never have to take on an assignment that you don’t feel is a fit for you.

This Opportunity:

BrightBee is looking for Paraprofessionals (Aftercare) to work for schools in the Charleston area! Monday to Friday approximately 2:00pm-6:00pm (varies by school calendar). Opportunity for longer term multi-day roles

Job Responsibilities:

Supervising and monitoring students during aftercare activities. Assisting with homework and academic assignments. Providing guidance and support to students with social and emotional needs. Implementing and enforcing program rules and policies. Communicating effectively with parents, teachers, and other staff members. Planning and organizing activities and programs for students. Maintaining a safe and positive environment for students. Keeping accurate records of student attendance and behavior.

Who You Are:

An individual with a genuine enthusiasm for working with children and youth along with alignment to our mission of supporting workers, students, and schools while promoting academic success. Related work experience with special needs children or adults , required. Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree, preferred (and may be mandatory for some assignments) Additional coursework, certifications, or degrees in education, child development, or related fields, preferred. Reliable transportation and ability to commute to public and charter schools within the applicant region, required. Some prior experience working with K-12 students in educational settings , required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with teachers, students, and school staff. Ability to quickly adapt to varying classroom environments, student needs, and instructional approaches. Dependability and punctuality are vital for fulfilling on-demand job opportunities efficiently. Prior to working with students, you will need to pass a background check, livescan and may need to obtain other necessary testing/clearances . Rest assured, we will guide you through the process!

Compensation:

On average assignments range from $19/hr

  • 24/hr, variation depending on the assignment and experience needed.

You control what you earn, based on what assignments you claim! Bees can make up to $35/hr based on milestones completed!
