Assist in the monitoring of students in all classroom situations: large group, small group, centers, naptime. Assist in the assessment of the development skills of students. Assist with the instruction of children in large and small groups and on an individual basis; Assist with the development of teacher-made activities and materials for units of instruction. Assist with the maintenance of accurate pupil accounting records in compliance with local and state requirements. Assist with the management of the classroom according to the rules and regulations developed for the school and for the classroom specifically. Help with the special needs of the students (toileting, physical therapy for the handicapped, feeding) as needed. Assist with the preparation of materials for classroom activities and learning centers and daily maintenance and clean up of the classroom environment. Perform such other tasks as may be assigned. Experience/Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 60 hours college credit or passing score on paraprofessional test; 2 year degree preferred. Must have ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. Must be able to handle, in a calm, intelligent manner, any unexpected situation that may occur. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to work with minimum supervision. Must have ability to work with minimal supervision. Must have computer skills using Windows-based programs. Salary Range Salary Grade School Aide 2 WITHOUT 2 or 4 year degree.
