Special Education Aide Happyland Afterschool Clubhouse Orangeburg, SC 29115 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Aide to join our team. This role is essential in supporting students with diverse learning needs in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide assistance to students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in implementing curriculum and instructional strategies tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Support students in their daily activities, ensuring their engagement and participation in classroom tasks. Help manage classroom behavior by implementing positive reinforcement strategies and maintaining a structured environment. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise. Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and adapt educational materials that enhance literacy education and overall learning experiences. Utilize knowledge of American Sign Language or other communication methods as needed to support non-verbal or hearing-impaired students. Participate in training sessions focused on special education practices, early childhood education techniques, and classroom management strategies. Experience Previous experience working in special education or early childhood education settings is preferred. Familiarity with curriculum development, particularly for preschool or Montessori programs, is advantageous. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with students, families, and educational staff. Knowledge of literacy education techniques will be beneficial in supporting student learning outcomes. Experience using various teaching aids and tools to assist students with different learning styles is a plus.
