Assists in all aspects of the FOIA process to help ensure the department’s compliance with state FOIA laws including requirements related to CAD and radio traffic as well as Rule 5 paperwork for Solicitors offices. Under the direction of the FOIA Manager, assists the FOIA Coordinators by responding in a timely and courteous manner to FOIA requests including research and entering new requests into the database. Works with divisions of SCDPS to gather requested information, applicable documents and media as well as prepare and redact materials for release according to state laws including AXON videos and tracking dispatch records for TCC phone calls, radio traffic and CAD records. Assists in researching, duplicating/copying, tracking and filing paperwork associated with Rule 5 requests from Solicitors to prosecute traffic offenses including DUI/Felony DUI offenders statewide as well as assists the Office of General Counsel with providing dispatch records associated with subpoenas. Assists in fielding and responding to telephone inquiries, mail and e-mail regarding FOIA requests. Must be able to prioritize workflow in conjunction with FOIA Manager. Sends invoices and collects payment for FOIA fees authorized by law. Performs other duties as requested.

Minimum and Additional Requirements Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and relevant experience in administrative services. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.

Agency Additional Requirements:

Strong administrative capabilities including organizational and computer/database skills. Word processing, database management, and automated record keeping skills. Ability to coordinate diverse administrative functions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively. Must be or willing to become certified in SLED/CJIS and

FBI/NCIC

within 6 months of employment. Must possess or be able to obtain knowledge of applicable state and national policies and procedures governing the use of NCIC and NLETS within 6 months. Responsible for the administrative activities associated with processing and responding to requests made under FOIA. Required to follow program-specific protocols as directed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under deadlines with high attention to detail. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and sit for extended periods in front of a computer monitor.
