South Carolina Retirement Yes State Insurance Programs Yes Annual Leave Yes Sick Leave Yes Position Description Advertised Job Summary The Children’s Law Center is in search of an Administrative Assistant to join the Investigations and Prosecution Team to support the preparation and implementation of trainings related to the identification, investigation, and prosecution of child maltreatment. Under the general supervision of the Senior Resource Attorney and Investigations Trainer, the Administrative Assistant will engage in tasks varying from management of registration systems, virtual meeting platforms, and financial payment systems to training support within in-person training venues. This position provides the opportunity to be a part of a collaborative and supportive work environment focused on improving the safety and well-being of children. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Typically holds a high school diploma or GED. Requires no prior work experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Prefer experience in coordination of training programs or event planning. Experience in a criminal justice, social services, or legal setting would be a plus. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must be highly organized and attentive to detail. Must be able to communicate effectively and courteously with staff, trainees, and vendors. Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations. Job Duties Job Duty Provides administrative support for the delivery of in-person professional trainings, including but not limited to: management of both the CLC’s training registration system and the SC DSS registration system, preparation and dissemination of training announcements, reservation and preparation of the training facility, communication with training attendees about training logistics and details, securing of parking spaces, preparation of technology necessary for the training, maintaining attendance records, providing certificates of attendance to attendees. Some trainings will require the securing of hotel accommodations for faculty and select attendees and the coordination of catering. For in-person simulation trainings, staging apartment for child maltreatment scenarios and assisting with the coordination of actors is required. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 40 Job Duty Provides administrative support for the delivery of virtual, or online, professional trainings, including but not limited to: management of both the CLC’s training registration system and SC DSS registration system, preparation and dissemination of training announcements, creating and disseminating the online platform link, providing technical assistance to attendees having issues with the virtual platform, monitoring chat communications, resolving issues during the training, monitoring engagement and attendance, documenting attendance, and providing certificates of attendance to attendees. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30 Job Duty Completes administrative tasks following training sessions, including timely processing of payments and travel vouchers, maintain financial records, compilation of course evaluations, maintenance of training files, maintenance of the CLC registration system, and assistance with the preparation of reports.
