Position OverviewAssociate Teachers are full-time employees who learn and work alongside Lead Teachers in K-1 classrooms. Associate Teachers may flexibly support student learning.

Job Description”Day in the life” responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Curriculum Development and InstructionIn collaboration with grade level team, plan and execute a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum that assesses students’ progressSupport with the collection of data and academic monitoring during core instructionLead small-group instruction in partnership with Lead Teacher(s)Perform clerical duties that serve to advance student learning (i.e. academic and behavioral data entry, make copies, grading, etc)Scaffolded teaching responsibilities in Social Studies, Science, and/or other non-core content areas.

To establish equitable salary practices, the compensation package is derived from the regional KIPP Nashville Public Schools pay scale. This position is exempt and will follow a 10-month work schedule.

Robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, supplemental insurance, and life insurance policy options. Application for these benefits may be made immediately upon employment. The policy is effective upon the first of the month following the first day of work.

Certificated staff have access to the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System pension plan (TCRS). Eligible employees contribute 5% and KIPP matches up to 6%. Employees may also be eligible for 401k in which KIPP will contribute 5%.The vacation package for salaried employees includes 29 paid days throughout the 10 month work schedule (including holidays, fall break, spring break, thanksgiving break, winter break, as well as summer break. In addition employees in this role are allotted 6 PTO days. Employees are allotted an additional 2 days after every 2 consecutive years of employment. Eligible staff members receive payment for unused PTO days at the end of the fiscal year.

Adoption/Parental Caregiver Leave- up to 10 weeks parental leave for the primary caregiver and 2 weeks parental leave for the secondary caregiver paid at 100%.Teachers are provided with laptop computers with access to the internet and or email to assist them in performing their job responsibilities. Apply online at https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/KIPP/nashville.
