PURPOSE/FUNCTION
Provides support services for LS students served by the Exceptional Education programs at CCS. Uses data collection measures created by exceptional education staff to monitor progress. Works with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff to serve students in inclusion settings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves students eligible for exceptional education services through academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and physical support. Implements interventions, modifications, and accommodations according to student needs. Implements de-escalation strategies and maintains the physical safety of all students. Prepares materials for a variety of classroom needs Maintains confidentiality of identified students and maintains files for students who receive support through the exceptional education department at CCS Communicates clearly and professionally through speaking and writing. Uses a variety of technology including assistive technology. Facilitates positive social exchanges for all students. Performs other job duties as assigned. Experience with emotional regulation techniques and able to be trained in de-escalation techniques to maintain student safety.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a role that requires equal amounts of standing/walking and sitting at a desk for the majority of the school day. The employee may need to physically support students with physical disabilities and should have no health issues which would prevent assisting a student getting in and out of a chair or wheelchair This is a role that may require assisting students with toileting, eating, and other self-care activities. This is a role that may require the physical strength for scooping up or carrying students from one area to another.
