• Huntsville Campus Job Summary The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida/Huntsville is accepting applications for the position of Allied Health & Medical Assisting Associate Instructor to be located at the main campus in Huntsville, TN.

The typical work schedule will be 7.5 hours per day and 37.5 hours per week Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. The instructor will work under the direction of the Coordinator of Practical Nursing and Allied Health. The instructor will provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom. The major emphasis will be placed on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom and clinical sites. Job Duties Instruct students through lecture, demonstrations, simulation, and/or audio-visual aids to prepare them to enter the medical assisting profession.

  Supervise students’ clinical experiences as scheduled

  Prepare and/or revise syllabi of courses of study with detailed lesson plans.

  Administer assessments to evaluate student progress.

  Maintain confidential student academic records and submit reports related to the program (i.e., grades, attendance, discipline, etc.).

  Participate in continuing education opportunities to remain current in the field.

  Attend meetings, day and/or evening, with program stakeholders.

  Ensure compliance with all TBR, TN Board of Nursing, institutional, state, and federal requirements.
• (Essential) Minimum Qualifications
• Associate Degree in Nursing with active license in Tennessee
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in a long-term nursing facility.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Teaching Experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Organizational and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
Willingness to remain current through continued education in the occupation to be taught.
Potential ability in instruction.
Strong, moral character, mature attitude, and stable personality.
Networking skills with ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with student, staff, related business, and industry.
Time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
Self-starter; ability to work with limited supervision.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, stand and walk, with or without accommodation, to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects.
