PRESCHOOL SUPPORT TEACHER
(Full-Time or Part-Time):
Overview:
A Preschool Support Teacher at The Goddard School of Mount Juliet will be expected to assist the Lead Teacher and/or Assistant Teacher in a classroom, or possibly in more than one classroom. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, in-classroom help, accomplishing various classroom tasks throughout the school day, and also help to establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. The Preschool Support Teacher position’s starting wage is from $16.00/hour to $16.50/hour (dependent on experience) and includes many benefits and a friendly working environment. There is an excellent opportunity for advancement. All successful and reliable Support Teachers are eventually offered promotions to Assistant Teachers and Lead Teachers resulting in significant wage increases – up to $21.00/hour for a Lead Teacher (heavily dependent on experience and tenure at our school).
Qualifications:
A Goddard School Support Teacher must meet the qualifications of his or her state and the following qualifications: the ability to interact closely with children at their level; the ability to keep children within sight and sound supervision at all times; the ability to change children’s diapers and/or assist in toileting (when necessary); the ability to understand and comply with the franchisee’s employment policies; the ability to communicate effectively and professionally; the ability and willingness to assist administrators and classroom teachers; and the ability to comply in all respects with all applicable laws and regulations relating to childcare. An offer of employment may be made contingent on the following: Have reached at least 18 years of age Have earned a high school diploma, or equivalent A current work physical examination by a physician An approved criminal record check as required by state regulations
