Early Childhood•Teacher Assistant The Children’s Institute at Jericho Jericho, VT 05465 Summary The Children’s Institute at Jericho is nestled in the lovely town of Jericho, VT, and serves students ages 2•5. We value our wonderful staff and all they bring to our school to create a space of many experiences for our students. We are seeking a motivated Early Child Care Assistant for our preschool classroom. The Teacher Assistant collaborates with the Lead Teacher to cultivate a supportive, responsive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all students. The primary objective of this role is to help ensure that our school provides a safe, joyful, and comfortable space conducive to learning for all students. Duties Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children. Collaborate with the lead teacher to support students? needs in all areas•physical, emotional, social, and intellectual. Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials. Support the lead teacher in reinforcing classroom agreements and work expectations in a positive manner throughout all parts of the day. Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling. Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center. Follow all center policies and state regulations. Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. Requirements Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience. High energy. Ability to work well with others. Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills. An understanding of child development. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
