Position Summary
The Coordinator of Academic Tutoring will work under the direction of the Manager of Student Support Services to provide oversight of the SSS tutoring program through coordinating tutoring schedules, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that tutoring services are in alignment with grant requirements and budgetary constraints. The Coordinator of Academic Tutoring will also advise participants and actively contribute to achieving the goals and objectives of the SSS project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide academic advising, course selection, and scheduling for Student Support Services (SSS) participants.
Oversee the creation and management of tutors’ schedules to ensure tutoring services are offered in alignment with students’ needs. Work closely with the SSS Manager and part-time tutoring staff to advance program goals and objectives.
Monitor tutoring services to ensure the Project’s adnce to grant guidelines.
Maintain and update tutoring records to track hours and performance and to ensure data accuracy. Ensure accurate, timely, and confidential record-keeping, using platforms such as Student Access, Banner, National Clearinghouse, Accudemia, and physical student files to document all student contacts, referrals, and services, inpliance with confidentiality policies.
Conduct regular, continuous evaluation of tutoring services to identify opportunities for growth.
Collaborate with the Student Support Services Manager, SSS tutors, and faculty members to implement improvements to tutoring services, identified during evaluation.
Work as part of the SSS team to design and implement activities and services to enhance participants’ academic success and retention. Be physically accessible to SSS participants on both NWSCC campuses. Assess participants’ needs and collaborate with other SSS staff to ensure each participant receives services that meet identified needs.
Regularlymunicate with NWSCC faculty, staff, and key support personnel to advocate for participants and address any concerns or barriers to success. Assist with the collection,pilation, and entry of verified data that is required for submitting formal reports to the U.S. Department of Education. Assist with the evaluation of all SSS activities and services to ensure effectiveness in meeting the needs of participants and improving academic success. Attend relevant workshops, meetings, and conferences to stay updated on best practices and professional standards. Participate in departmental and division meetings as required. Assist in maintaining the SSS Center duties. Host events and activities as needed for the SSS program.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, required.
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution, preferred.
One year experience working in postsecondary education, required.
One year experience working with disadvantaged populations, required.
One year experience working with a database program, preferred.
One year experience working in a TRIO program, preferred.
Three years of experience working with interactive technology, preferred.
(This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment is dependent on continued funding.)

SALARY:
