Until Filled Farmington Public Schools is looking for a MultiLingual Language Tutor This position will work 5.6 per day or 28 hours per week (average) , 180 days school year. This position includes 3 paid personal days, 5 sick days, and 4 paid holidays. MultiLingual Learner (ML) Instructional Tutors.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

: Tutors offer instruction in different languages, helping students develop proficiency in multiple languages, and bridging the gap between languages, recognizing the importance of bilingualism and multilingualism. Provide resources and support for students to learn and practice multiple languages, including language-specific materials, online resources, and cultural activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

: Candidate should hold an Associate’s degree or 2 years of college credit or its equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidate should possess proficiency in the languages to be teaching Candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain a good rapport with students and possess a personable relationship with teachers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides push in and pull out MultiLingual Language (ML) instruction and academic support for selected students in small groups and 1:1 Works in cooperation with ML teacher in establishing good ML teaching strategies for meeting the individual needs of students. Monitors and communicates student progress Administers and scores appropriate assessments under the guidance of the teacher Promotes home school communication Prepares and maintains written documentation as noted in the district ML plan Collaborates and consults with other MLTutors and ML Resource Teacher Attends monthly professional development sessions related to ML instruction and materials

SALARY:
