English as a Second Language Tutor Position Available In Alachua, Florida

English as a Second Language Tutor STEPs for Success 9730 NW 24th Lane, Gainesville, FL 32606

Schedule:

2x days a week Mon-Thur for an 1.5hrs each (3hrs/wk total)

Duties:

• Teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to a 2nd and 6th grader from South Korea
• Implement pre-made lesson plans that are engaging, interactive, and tailored to meet the student’s needs
• Provide instruction in grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, and listening skills
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes cultural understanding and appreciation
• Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians

Skills:

• Fluency in English is required; Proficiency in Korean is a plus
• Experience working with children
• Knowledge of second language acquisition theories and methodologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues
