Full Job Description Schedule:

~3 Days/Week (Preferably Monday, Wednesday, Friday | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

Job Description:

A private family in Florida is seeking a skilled and engaging homeschool tutor to work with their 9-year-old son, currently in 4th grade. He performs well across most subjects but could benefit from extra support in reading and increased engagement—particularly with subjects like history, which he finds challenging. The family uses the Sonlight curriculum and will provide all necessary materials. The ideal tutor will be hands-on, patient, and responsive to multiple learning styles.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide instruction in reading and other core subjects, following the Sonlight curriculum Adapt teaching style to suit a mix of learning preferences, with a focus on hands-on engagement Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment Track progress and communicate consistently with the parent

Qualifications:

Must hold an active Florida teaching credential Experience teaching or tutoring elementary students, especially in homeschool settings Strong communication and classroom management skills Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor

Schedule & Commitment:

Preferred schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Some flexibility available; family is looking for around 3 sessions per week In-person sessions required (location to be confirmed during the interview)
