The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in language teaching methodologies and a deep understanding of the structure of English, including syntax, phonology, and discourse. Please note, this is not a virtual or remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lessons that accommodate a variety of learning styles.
- Assist students in acquiring second language skills through personalized instruction.
- Provide practical experience opportunities for students to apply their knowledge
- Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Determine by the close of the summer program, if each student will need additional language tutoring or if they can be successful in an on-level course without English language-learning support.
HOURS:
up to twice per week ( June 23 – July 18, 2025 ), 3:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Education, or a related field. Will consider students who are currently enrolled in a degree program in education or linguistics
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage students effectively.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for teaching.
