Teacher/Tutor Part Time

• Sylvan Learning of Canton, Ga Sylvan Learning Of Canton, Georgia 149 Reinhardt College Parkway, Canton, GA 30114 As a successful Tutor / Instructor, you will teach Sylvan programs, supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction, reward students for completed assignments, evaluate and document student progress, and communicate student needs to the center manager.

You will also inspire students by developing rapport with them and establishing a fun learning environment, maintaining a positive attitude and demonstrating enthusiasm for teaching and for Sylvan. We are currently looking for lower and upper level math teachers. As a part-time Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group, 3:1 or 4:1 setting. You will provide personalized instruction in Math and SAT/ACT prep. Students of all levels will need assistance on material ranging from Elementary, Middle and High School along with Pre-Algebra to Calculus.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in various subjects, including
• Create personalized lesson plans and study materials based on the individual needs of each student.
• Assist students in understanding complex concepts and problem-solving techniques.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their academic performance.
• Utilize computerized resources and educational software to enhance the learning experience.
• Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment for students.
• Offer guidance and support to students in developing effective study skills and time management strategies.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with students, either as a tutor or in a teaching capacity.
• Strong knowledge and proficiency in the subjects being tutored.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Patience and empathy when working with students of different learning styles and abilities.
• Flexibility in adapting teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
• A passion for education and a desire to help students succeed.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Teaching Credential recommended
