PUBLIC SCHOOLS BELLINGHAM, MASSACHUSETTS ANTICIPATED OPENINGS TITLE
Title I Reading/English Language Arts Tutor Anticipated openings at Stall Brook Elementary School and Bellingham Memorial School for the 2025-2026 school year (total number of tutors TBD based on available grant funding) 19.5 hours per week, subject to grant funding (number of weeks TBD based on available grant funding) One-year only positions – Funding through the 2025-2026 Title I Grant
POSITION SUMMARY
To provide small group, in-class and out-of-class instruction in
Reading/English Language Arts DUTIES:
1. Assess, document and instruct students according the diagnosed needs in English Language Arts and Reading 2. Instruct students in ELA/Reading content, strategies and skills 3. Document student progress toward improving their MCAS performance 4. Administer Reading assessments 5. Attend Title I staff meetings and Title I parent meetings/workshops as necessary 6. Responsible for creating progress reports, helping with student assessments, maintaining student records, and assisting the Title I Reading/ELA Lead Teacher as needed 7. Evaluate and suggest appropriate materials/programs/apps needed for the Title I school-wide program 8. Incorporate available technology (such as Ipads) in tutoring sessions and be responsible for the upkeep and safety of that technology
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience teaching Reading or English at K-6 level in accordance with the MA Curriculum Frameworks preferred 2. Understanding of or experience using rubrics and standards-based units of instruction preferred 3. Experience with
BAS, DRA2, DIAL
IV and DIBELS preferred 4. Completed at least two years of study at an institute of higher education, obtained at least an associate degree, or meet a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate knowledge of and ability to assist in instruction in Reading or Reading and Writing readiness
SALARY:
$30 per hour up to 19.5 hours per week (number of weeks TBD by available grant funding)
