Title AAC – Faculty Coordinator, Tutoring for Multilingual Students Department Summary The Tutoring for Multilingual Students in learning assistance program provides assistance to students for whom English is not their first language. Students develop effective strategies to increase clarity, fluency, linguistic accuracy and creativity in English. Consultations on inclusive pedagogy and second language issues are available for faculty upon request. Position Summary The Coordinator of Tutoring for Multilingual Students directs language support services for students for whom English is not their first language. This is a one year, academic-year position (End of August 2025 through May 2026) and is an in-person, 20 hour/week position with the possibility of some remote work per week dedicated to paperwork and/or administrative tasks (approximately 1-2 hours). Position Type Temporary Essential Duties 1. Hire, train, and supervise studentESLtutors for Tutoring for Multilingual Students. 2. Train and supervise the graduate assistant for Tutoring for Multilingual Students. 3. Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Writing and Communication and the Director of Learning Assistance in the Academic Achievement Center on developing programs to support multilingual students. 4. Provide informal language assessment sessions and referrals at the request of faculty and students. 5. Organize language support workshops and events. 6. Work with academic departments and administrative offices on issues related to language assessment, placement, and advising of students for whom English is an additional language. 7. Teach a one-hour course for studentESLpeer tutors that prepares them to offer the best services to students. 8. Participate in tutoring training sessions and tutoring staff meetings as requested. 9. Arrange classroom visits to promote services 10. Work on projects, as assigned (projects may include end of semester data 11. Act as a representative for the Academic Achievement Center within the campus community. Required Qualifications 1.Experience teaching and/or providing academic support to English Language Learners. 2. Master’s degree in English, education, teaching, counseling or another related field. 3. Relevant experience coordinating academic support programs or learning assistance services in a higher education setting. 4. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse racial, ethnic, linguistic and other underrepresented populations in higher education. 5. Supervision experience6. Training facilitation experience 7. Experience developing successful partnerships 8. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications TESOL certification Experience working with scheduling software (ex.
