Berklee invites applications for the role of Assistant Director of Core Music Tutoring Services (CMT)—a dynamic and student-centered position supporting Berklee’s commitment to access, excellence, and creative innovation. As part of the Student Success Division, the Assistant Director plays a critical role in helping students thrive both musically and academically. Aligned with Berklee’s strategic vision for 2025, this position supports high-impact student success initiatives focused on affordability, access, retention, and meaningful learning experiences. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Core Music Tutoring and oversees the daily operations of CMT, including supervising staff, coordinating schedules, developing programming, and fostering inclusive learning environments. Key Responsibilities Manage and evaluate a team of tutor supervisors and student employees. Coordinate tutoring and mentoring schedules, drop-in hours, and academic programming. Serve as a liaison to Accessibility Resources to ensure all students can access services. Collaborate on tutor hiring, training, and professional development aligned with CRLA standards. Lead data collection and reporting on student engagement and program impact. Oversee outreach through workshops, events, social media, and campus partnerships. Support the operations of the Peer Academic Coaching program and the CMT Living Learning Community. Step in as acting director when needed. What You Bring A bachelor’s degree in music or related field At least one year of experience supporting students in an academic or administrative role Familiarity with Berklee’s music curriculum and commitment to educational equity Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience working with diverse populations and a passion for inclusive, holistic student support Comfort with software systems for scheduling, data tracking, and communication Why Berklee?
