Consultants should be able to interact with other students and assist those students with writing needs.
Consultants should know grammar and documentation. Minimum Qualifications Consultants should be at least a sophomore in standing and passed both Composition I and II with at least a B in each course.
Priority will be given to students who have shown exceptional writing skills and knowledge and are adept at various documentation styles. Job Description Summary Writing Center Consultants should be able to work in person in the Writing Center. Consultants should be able to work individually with other students on their papers. Consultants should have a strong background in writing and documentation as well as paper development. When not helping students in person, Consultants will respond to online writing submissions and should be able available to respond to virtual messages as well. Hours of Availability The Writing Center is typically open Monday through Thursday from 9-5 and on Friday from 9-12. Consultants should be able to work six hours during those time periods. Shifts are usually three hours long. Background Check Statement Prior to hiring, the final candidate(s) must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation. A prior conviction reported as a result of the background investigation
