TIME EC TA SPARTA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 15-19.5 HOURS PER WEEK

The Exceptional Children’s (EC) Aide will assist in providing instructional, behavioral, and personal care support for students in a Developmental Day Classroom . The aide will work under the direct supervision of a certified EC teacher to ensure the safety, well-being, and academic progress of students with significant disabilities. Job duties and responsibilities may include: Support the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) and daily routines. Provide one-on-one and small group support as directed by the teacher. Assist students with mobility, feeding, toileting, and hygiene as needed. Collect data and document student progress and behavior. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment. Collaborate with EC staff, therapists, and other support personnel. Maintain confidentiality of student information at all times. Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, transitions, and recess. Minimum Training and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or 48 college credit hours preferred. Experience working with children with disabilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of special education practices and individualized instruction is a plus. Patience, compassion, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
