After School Tutor (Part time) The Organized Mind Track Out Camp 1867 Lake Pine Drive, Cary, NC 27511
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Part-Time Afterschool Tutor, you will support students ages 9-14 by helping with homework, academic review, and interactive educational activities. You’ll create a structured, positive environment that extends learning beyond the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
Tutor students individually and in small groups across core academic subjects. Lead and supervise educational games and structured activities. Assist with after-school pickup and transitions from local schools. Communicate effectively with parents and team members. Monitor and support students with medical or inclusion needs. Document academic progress and any behavior concerns. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment. Assist with additional tasks as needed to support smooth daily operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with basic academic subjects for grades 3-8. Ability to provide positive behavior support and encourage strong study habits. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Ability to administer basic first aid and CPR (training provided if needed). Customer service mindset with professionalism and patience.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older at the time of employment. Valid NC driver’s license required. Must pass background check, drug screening, and reference verification. CPR/First Aid certification (we will provide)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience tutoring or working with students ages 9-14. Previous work in after-school programs, camps, or educational settings. Strong academic skills in math, reading, and writing support.
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed while walking, standing, and sitting. Light lifting may occasionally be required.
