Job Summary
Under the direction of the Upward Bound Coordinator, the English Tutor provides tutoring services to students grades 9-12, in the Upward Bound Program. Tutors are required to work Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at a minimum of 4 hours per week.
Essential Duties
Provides direct tutoring services for Upward Bound program students. Provides computer assisted supplemental instruction to students in English. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of Upward Bound purposes and mission. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with director/coordinator, students, parents, and the general public. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in English or related field required. Teaching license is preferred. Experience working with low income youth preferred.
