ISEE Test Prep PALS Support Services New York, NY Job Details Part-time $75 – $100 an hour 4 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications School experience Writing skills Teaching Certification Tutoring Mid-level 3 years Math Bachelor’s degree Full Job Description ISEE Tutor (Independent School Entrance Exam) – Part-Time We are seeking a knowledgeable, engaging, and compassionate ISEE Tutor to join our academic support team. This role is ideal for educators, test prep specialists, or graduate students who are experienced in standardized test instruction and passionate about helping students gain confidence and achieve strong results on the ISEE (Lower, Middle, or Upper Levels) .
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group tutoring for students preparing for the ISEE, tailored to the student’s level and target schools. Create and implement individualized test prep plans based on diagnostic assessments and student needs. Teach strategies for all ISEE sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics Achievement, and the Essay. Help students develop time management, test-taking strategies, and executive functioning skills to improve performance under pressure. Maintain clear communication with parents, tracking progress and providing actionable feedback. Support families in understanding the admissions process and developing a realistic testing timeline. Collaborate with other tutors and staff to ensure consistency and continuity of support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or teaching credential preferred. Prior experience tutoring for standardized tests (ISEE, SSAT, SAT, etc.) highly preferred. Strong content knowledge in math, reading, and writing at the middle/high school level. Ability to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. Patient, encouraging, and skilled at building rapport with students and families. Familiarity with independent school admissions timelines and expectations is a plus.
