Responsibilities:
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the next leading tutoring company. Glean Tutors is in start-up mode and looking to bring on the best teachers and learning specialists to join our growing team. We will be launching in the spring/summer of 2025. Glean Tutors is seeking dedicated, experienced, and passionate certified teachers to join our team as tutors for elementary-aged children (grades K-8) in the subjects of reading, writing, and math. Tutors will work with students to provide personalized instruction, develop individualized learning plans, and help students achieve academic success. As a tutor with Glean Tutors, you will be responsible for assessing each student’s learning needs, creating tailored lesson plans, and delivering high-quality instruction either in-person (for students located in New York) or virtually. This is a flexible, 1099 contractor position, with hours varying based on student needs and tutor availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tutoring to students in reading, writing, and/or math for grades K-8.
- Develop individualized learning plans based on the student’s current abilities, challenges, and learning style.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students and support their academic growth.
- Collaborate with parents and/or teachers to discuss student progress and provide written feedback after each tutoring session.
- Maintain clear communication with parents, educators, and school teams as needed to ensure a cohesive learning experience. This may involve either in person or virtual meetings.
- Develop a positive and supportive relationship with students to foster a love for learning.
- Providing support may be either 1 on 1 or in a group format.
Qualifications:
- Must be a certified teacher with experience teaching K-8 students.
- Must have public and/or private school teaching experience.
- Expertise in reading, writing, and/or math for elementary-aged children (grades K-8).
- Ability to develop personalized learning plans for students based on their individual needs and goals.
- Experience working with students with learning or thinking differences, and/or familiarity with IEP plans is strongly desired but not required.
- Must be able to provide either remote tutoring or in-person tutoring to students in New York.
- Must be dependable, professional, and passionate about helping students succeed.
- Must be a compassionate and kind educator with respect for students from diverse backgrounds, learning styles and abilities.
- Master’s degree in early childhood education or related subject preferred but not required.
- Teaching certificate and/or extensive teaching experience required.
- Background check mandatory.
