Summer Academic & Enrichment Program (K-8) Teacher-Tutor (IN PERSON) Lowcountry Center for Academic Equity (LCAE) 2072 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, Charleston, SC 29407 LCAE is hosting a Summer Camp program from June 2-August 8, 2025. The camp will be open from 7 am
- 7 pm.
Shifts are avaiable in 2, 4, and 6 hour blocks.
Duties:
- Provide one-on-one and/or small group tutoring sessions to students in kindergarten through eighth grade in any math, reading, writing, and spelling
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to Program Directors
- Deliver interactive and engaging activities to enhance student learning
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, content area (if 6-8 grade subject), and/or a current teaching license
- Experience working with children, particularly in a tutoring or classroom setting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and the ability and desire to build rapport with students of all ages
- Familiarity with special education practices and strategies is a plus
