April 18, 2025 We are seeking a qualified and passionate Math Tutor to work with students in grades 8-12, providing support across a range of math courses from Pre-Algebra to AP-level mathematics. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about helping students succeed and has a strong foundation in secondary math education.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide individual or small group instruction in math subjects, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP-level courses Tailor instruction to meet students’ learning styles and academic needs Track and communicate student progress with teacher and Academic Coordinator Deliver instructions according to appropriate grade level placement and IEP expectations Create a positive and supportive learning environment Maintains confidentiality of company and patient information
Requirements:
Active Tennessee Teaching License in Mathematics (Grades 7-12) Bachelor’s degree in Math, Education, or related field Strong communication skills and a passion for student growth Prior teaching or tutoring experience preferred Must be able to speak and articulate clearly in English Ability to motivate students in the learning process while managing behaviors in ways that contribute to the development of self-esteem in conjunction with Twelve Step philosophy
Work Environment:
8 hours per week, scheduled over one or two days Flexible hours based on tutor and student availability Position is in an office setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions. Must be able to see, hear and move quickly enough to provide for the safety and instructional needs of the patients Must be able to sit, walk, stand, and reach for extended periods Position may have direct contact with volatile persons who require additional safety precautions.
