Private Brass and String Music Tutor Thrive Tutoring Nashville, TN Overview Thrive Tutoring has served the Nashville area for seven years focused on private, in-home academic tutoring. We are expanding our offerings in 2025 to include music tutoring. We are currently reviewing musician applications in the brass and string families. Duties Prepare high-impact lessons in advance of each private session Lead engaging, one-on-one music sessions that are tailored to the needs and goals of each student Travel to the home of the student to conduct tutoring sessions–travel required across the Greater Nashville area, mostly during the after-school and evening hours, as well as weekends Communicate promptly and professionally with Thrive team, students, and families Work directly with families to schedule tutoring sessions If appropriate, establish an open line of communication with student’s music teacher(s) in order to gain insight into the student’s needs and class goals. Provide parents with feedback after each session Provide student with post-session checklist of action items/reminders Follow through on all action items and commitments Requirements At least two years of experience teaching/leading students Highly dependable and responsible Self-starter, resourceful, and eager to work in a start-up environment Track record of leading music students to results Exceptional music education background Able to demonstrate expertise Strong understanding of the learning process and best practices for teaching and learning Passion for and experience in working with students Experience developing music curriculum and lessons aligned to student needs and learning goals Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Natural ability to build rapport and develop relationships Empathetic and in tune with the needs of others We will soon be updating our website to reflect music tutoring as an offering.
