- About the Waterville Woodworkers & GNCBL The Waterville Woodworkers are a proud member of the Greater Northeast Collegiate Baseball League (GNCBL), a premier summer league focused on player development, community engagement, and competitive collegiate baseball.
Based in the vibrant town of Waterville, Maine, the Woodworkers provide a unique opportunity for aspiring coaches to contribute to the growth and success of high-level amateur athletes while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a competitive, team-oriented environment.
- Position Summary We are seeking dedicated, passionate, and energetic individuals to join our 2025 seasonal coaching staff.
This is a part-time, seasonal position ideal for current baseball coaches or former players looking to gain experience in a collegiate-level summer league. Coaches must be available for the entirety of the 20-game regular season (early June through early August), including practices and team events.
- Key Responsibilities Support in all aspects of team management, practice planning, and game strategy.
Lead player development, including position-specific instruction and mental preparation.
Facilitate pre-game warmups, batting practice, and in-game adjustments.
Foster a competitive, respectful, and team-first environment both on and off the field.
Communicate effectively with players, staff, and league officials.
Help ensure player safety, compliance with league rules, and proper conduct during all team activities.
- Qualifications Previous playing or coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, or club level preferred.
Strong baseball knowledge, leadership ability, and a passion for teaching the game.
Ability to commit to the full 20-game schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Must be reliable, flexible, and a team player willing to contribute beyond the field.
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred, not required).
- Additional Information This is a stipend-based position; housing and transportation are not provided.
Coaches must be local to the area or able to commute reliably to Waterville, Maine.
The GNCBL provides a platform for career development in sports management and coaching.
