Position Summary
The Instructor is responsible for providepetent classroom and laboratory instruction for Additive Manufacturing and Drafting Design at varied times and in varied formats based on student demand; day or evening, at the Snead State Workforce and Career Institute located in Guntersville, Alabama. The Instructor will ensure planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom or online instruction and related activities. As a minimum, the related activities include instruction, academic advising, serving on variousmittees, participating in local, state, regional, and national professional activities andanizations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Providepetent classroom and laboratory instruction in the area of Additive Manufacturing and Drafting Design Technology.
Assume personal responsibility for instruction in all classes assigned.
Assist in departmental projects, such as the preparation/selection of departmental course syllabi, collection and analysis of learning oues data, selection of textbooks/materials, etc.
Master software and technology as needed in order to enhance instruction; develop, and deliver web-based instruction in accordance with standards set by the College.
Maintain currency of professional knowledge and skills through professional development and continuing education.
Foster a customer service environment for fellow employees, students, and visitors. Be an Ambassador for the College. Support the college’s initiative to maximize retention of current students and enable students to finish their collegiate goals.
Comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the ACCS Chancellor’s Office, and the College.
Participate in College functions (Award and Honor events, Alumni Homing, Commencement, Parson Days, etc.)
Assume other work-related responsibilities as assigned by the appropriately assigned College administrator.

Qualifications
Required-A minimum of an Associates degree in Additive Manufacturing and Drafting Design Technology, or related field from an accredited institution. Required

  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant technical work experience in Additive Manufacturing and Drafting.
    Required
  • Relevant experience using Additive and Drafting software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, Solid Edge, and AdditiveLab.
    Required
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience with relevant 3D ers that use various filaments such as PLA, ABS, Carbon Fiber, PC, and Metal.
    Preferred
  • Certifications in the field such as ADDA, CAMF, and CAMT, NCCER, and OSHA 10.
    Preferred
  • Experience teaching at the college level.

Experience teaching online courses. Experience with student engagement and/or civic engagement.
