POSITION
PreK Teacher
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
9-Month Contract
SALARY:
Refer to the MPSD Teacher Pay Scale

Job Summary
The teacher will play a key role in creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for our youngest learners. The ideal candidate will possess a love for teaching, a commitment to fostering social, emotional, and academic growth, and a strong understanding of Louisiana’s PreK curriculum standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Certification:
Must meet the certification requirements set forth by the Louisiana Department of Education and/or the Louisiana Board of Elementary & Secondary Education at the time of employment. (See Bulletin 746)
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Elementary Education or a related field
Master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred
Valid Louisiana teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements
Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum and core academic subjects
Ability to manage student behavior constructively and effectively
Proficiency in integrating digital tools into teaching and learning
Completion of one year of student teaching or an approved internship
Prior successful teaching experience is highly desirable

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related field
Proof of enrollment in an approved Louisiana Teacher Preparation Program
Official transcript or documentation listing completed and current coursework
