POSITION OVERVIEW
High School Alternative Education Teacher•Portland High, 25-26 SY
Full-time Alternative Education Teacher needed to work in a well-established program at Portland High School, with students who need a different approach to completing high school requirements—specifically English and Social Studies. Student needs addressed through the program include: academic, attendance, language and behavior needs. Strong ability to work with at-risk populations is a must. Flexibility and experience with differentiation and multi-modal teaching strategies are helpful as students meet high school graduation standards. Experience collaborating with school counselors, social workers, special education and gen ed teachers, and administrators is a must. To be considered for this position you must currently hold a valid MDOE teacher certificate with Social Studies and/or English endorsements.
CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization (more info).
Maine State Teacher Certificate with either or both of the following endorsements (more info):
100 English (6-12)
200 Social Studies (6-12)
