The individual will be responsible for developing and teaching courses in the Culinary Arts curriculum and performing other duties. The instructor will report to the Dean of Career Technical Education. Job Description Adhere to and publicly support college policies and procedures. Plan and present course instruction based on approved syllabi to assure course objectives are taught in classroom, lab, and clinical settings through a variety of instructional methodology, reinforced through relevant assignments, and assessed through well-designed evaluation tools. Accept responsibility for the recruitment, retention, and placement of students. Maintain and submit required documentation. Assist with student registration and orientation, serving primarily as an advisor. Participate in in-service workshops, departmental meetings, etc. as scheduled. Participate in the college’s ongoing Institutional Effectiveness process, including annual evaluations and reviews, strategic planning, surveys, professional development, etc. Qualifications Minimum of an associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field. Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience. Recent teaching experience preferred. ServSafe Certification preferred. Licenses, Certificates or Registrations Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient in culinary techniques. Ability to critically think. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Database management skills. Knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, policies, and procedures. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
