- : Under the general guidance of the Program Coordinator, the Welding Instructor is responsible for supervising and training students in Welding courses. This position requires flexible working hours; day, evening and possibly weekends.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- :•Teach assigned courses to meet program needs•Integrate classroom and hands-on experience enabling students to demonstrate competencies•Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning•Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs•Oversee day-to-day operation of the class•Maintain class records; prepare and submit instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy•Follow all safety and security procedures and notify the campus leadership of deficiency•Provide feedback to program supervisor regarding student progress and/or comprehension of course content in classroom or in theory classes•Ensures confidentiality of all student records and student information•Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skill in subject specialty•Motivate and encourage students to successfully complete their program•Promote community awareness of program opportunities•Perform other tasks as assigned which support the mission and initiatives of the College•Minimum Qualifications•: Certified AWS and/or NCCER preferred.
Prior postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 1 (one) year in subject matter is highly preferred.
