Position Summary:
Yadkin County Schools is seeking a passionate and dynamic Teacher Recruitment Coordinator to serve a dual role: (1) teaching high school-level education and training courses for students interested in pursuing careers in education, and (2) developing and leading recruitment and retention strategies to attract and support quality educators across the district. This position is key to building a sustainable teacher pipeline and promoting the teaching profession locally.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Duties Teach Education and Training pathway courses (such as “Foundations of Education” or “Teaching as a Profession”) to high school students interested in becoming educators. Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned curriculum focused on teaching practices, pedagogy, and the profession of education. Coordinate field experiences, internships, or job shadowing opportunities for students in collaboration with local schools. Serve as a mentor and advisor for students in the education pathway, including support for college and career planning. Promote student participation in related organizations such as Future Teachers of America. Supporting, monitoring, and tracking teacher interns, pre-apprentices, and apprentices through CTE Internships and the Surry-Yadkin Works program. Recruitment & Retention Duties Design and implement teacher recruitment strategies in partnership with Human Resources, including attending job fairs, visiting colleges/universities, and building relationships with educator preparation programs. Develop materials and campaigns that promote teaching in Yadkin County Schools, with an emphasis on community engagement. Build a local teacher pipeline through outreach to high school students, paraprofessionals, and community members interested in entering the profession. Track recruitment data, trends, and outcomes to inform future planning and report to district leadership. Support onboarding and mentoring of new teachers to promote retention, in collaboration with school administrators and district support staff. Coordinate recognition and appreciation initiatives to retain current educators and build morale.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field North Carolina teaching license Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Passion for promoting the teaching profession
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field Experience with CTE (Career and Technical Education) programs or pathways Knowledge of teacher preparation programs and licensure pathways Experience in recruitment, human resources, or public relations

Working Conditions:
The position will require travel within and outside the district for recruitment events. Work may include evening or weekend activities (e.g., job fairs, student events). Combination of school-based instruction and district office responsibilities.
