Building Principal Description:
Prepare high school students for Careers and further study in the Early Childhood Education/Human Services field.
Performance Responsibilities:
Teach theoretical underpinnings and core content knowledge, aptitudes, concepts, technical and employability skills as they apply to Early Childhood Education and Human Services. Develop instruction, activities, project-based learning, and work-based learning experiences. Deliver all aspects of the NYSED approved CTE program leading to opportunities for students to earn a technical endorsement on a regent’s diploma. Teach relevant contextualized academic concepts and skills (integrated academics). Instruct students in workplace competencies, citizenship, professional communication, and related skills. Develop and implement an assessment program with variety of frequent assessments to measure student growth and achievement. Manage the classroom to create an engaging, supportive, sage, orderly, and productive education environment. Develop and implement procedures and processes to endure sage use of supplies, tools, and equipment. Implement the student code of conduct. Participate in the NYSED approval process of the Early Childhood Education/Human Development CTE program under the direction and supervision of the CTE principal and curriculum coordinator. Maintain information technology competency for the purposes of instruction (in-person and remote), assessment, record keeping, program evolution and to communicate with students, parents, and school personnel. Plan, requisition, control, store, maintain, and use materials, supplies and equipment as per applicable regulation, board of education policies, and school district procedures. Develop and maintain an advisory committee composed of area employers, post-secondary representatives, industry association members, local union representatives, and other related professionals to provide input toward curriculum, employability skills, equipment purchases, license/certifications, technical skills, and industry standard practices. Comply with all state laws, NYSED regulations, board of education policies, student code of conduct, school district procedures and practices. Attend faculty meetings, participate in professional development, participate in committee work, and work collaboratively with colleagues to further the mission of the organization. Other duties as assigned by the principal.
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated annually by Building Principal as per NYSED regulation, CABOCES BOE policy and collective bargaining agreement.
Salary:
$41,970
Qualifications:
Appropriate NYS Teacher Certification as required for tenure appointment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must be certified, or eligible to meet certification requirements. Must be willing to obtain CTE certification upon hire. Ability to obtain approved instructor status for dual enrollment agreements with local colleges preferred.
