Education Practicum Instructor; 9181-309-A 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars 191 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201 For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness. Our Clinics are community-based which offer a professional and welcoming environment for both clients and staff. The Clinics provide psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological therapy, as well as individual, group, family therapy, crisis intervention, medication management, case management and collateral sessions. Our staff members follow an approach to health care that emphasizes wellness, recovery, trauma-informed care and physical-behavioral health integration. The Education Practicum Instructor will be the social work field practicum Instructor which is crucial to the educational process of students. This Education Practicum Instructor will ensure students field practicum is the most rewarding aspect of their educational program. The Education Practicum Instructor will ensure continuity across field placements, the following educational experiences are required for direct practice field practicum students. The Education Practicum Instructor will provide timely feedback to students to ensure the optimal development of their social work competencies. Implement and execute innovative, campus specific recruiting strategies to attract interns and hires from College & University campus talent. Attend career fairs, information sessions. Student organization meetings, etc. Build and maintain long-term relationship at target schools with key faculty, professors, administration, and student organizations Qualifications Master’s Degree in Social Work from a nationally accredited institution. Valid
NYS LCSW
required. SIFI (Seminar in Field Instruction Certified) must be completed or be concurrently enrolled in the Seminar. Requires a combination of skills in the following areas; operational oversight and evaluation of program services and staff, personnel management, public relations, governmental relations, leadership development and team building skills. Time management, organizational, and computer skills. Ability to evaluate and intervene in crisis situations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Comfortable with public speaking, lobbying and advocacy. Flexibility & Creativity.
