Position Summary Information Position Summary The Department of University Studies at Austin Peay State University invites applications for an Instructor of Culinary Arts position within the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Professional Services with concentrations in Culinary Arts and Recreation Administration. This is a fulltime, 9-month, 3-year, renewable position to begin August 2025. This position reports to the Director of Culinary Arts. The Culinary Arts program is housed in the Department of University Studies along with the Bachelor of Science in University Studies and the Associate of Science in University Studies. Austin Peay State University is a four-year public, doctoral-level university, with six colleges and four Chairs of Excellence. The University has an enrollment of enrollment of over 10,000 students and is located in Clarksville, Tennessee, a community of an estimated 150,287 people located approximately 40 miles northwest of Nashville, TN. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach five (5) classes per semester (or the equivalent) in Fall and Spring.
- Assist the Director of Culinary Arts with coordination and oversight, curriculum design, student advising, recruitment, retention, and program certification.

Physical Requirements Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/o a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Required Minimum Qualifications Required Minimum Qualifications
- Earned Bachelor’s degree or higher in Culinary Arts or a related field from an accredited institution (related field may include hospitality administration [leadership], business, nutrition, food science, or others as approved by the Office of Academic Affairs);
- Demonstrated expertise in the Culinary Arts including a minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience;
- Particular experience in areas such as baking and pastries, international cuisine, gourmet foods, garde manger, cake decorating/pastry arts, dietary food preparation, and/or desserts.
- A background in the areas of sanitation, nutrition, food production, baking, specialty cuisine, and catering.
