Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Physics from an accredited university and twelve (12) years of combined engineering and technical experience, including eight (8) years of project experience; or a Master’s Degree in the designated technical area of specialization from an accredited university with ten (10) years ofcombined engineering and technical experience, including six (6) years of project experience. Areas of specialization may include electromagnetics, electro-optics, optical sciences, electronic circuits, modeling and simulation, infrared scene projection, structural analysis, radar systems, high voltage systems, mechanical systems, data acquisition, stockpile testing, HWIL, HPC, or IR scene generation; performing engineering, analysis, and related functions in research, development, test and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems.
Additional specialization requirements:
Aerospace – Experience must include performing engineering duties in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft; and conducting basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacture; and performing engineering, analysis, and related functions in research, development, test and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems may be substituted for MA/MS education requirements.
Required Qualifications:
U. S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain an FAA Class III medical certificate. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
Rotary-wing or fixed-wing flight test experience, or experience in a related discipline is desired. A PhD in Engineering and five (5) years of applicable experience, including two (2) years of project experience, performing engineering, analysis, and related functions in research, development, test and evaluation in support of military equipment and systems. Intermediate knowledge of aircraft/aircraft systems (e.g., flight controls, displays, radar, comm/nav, etc.) and/or test and evaluation experience highly desired. Intermediate competency with MS Office, programming, Matlab, Python, and technical writing desired.
Skills Needed:
Experience performing engineering duties in designing, constructing, and testingaircraft and/or aviation systems; and conducting basic and applied research to evaluateadaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacture.
Duties:
Candidate will be responsible for taking leadership roles in planning, execution, real-timesafety-of-flight and data quality monitoring, data analysis, and reporting for developmental and/oroperational tests of system integrations on various aviation weapon system platforms as well ascontributing to and documenting flight operations and flight test developments. Additional dutiesinclude test project management for schedule and cost considerations.
