ROLE:
The
SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
will be responsible for providing support to QA, Supply Chain, suppliers and customers with regards to the continued operational safety of airworthy flight hardware.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Provide support for QA, Supply Chain and suppliers about drawing interpretation, manufacturing methods, inspection methods, etc.
Evaluate non-conforming materials, including analyzing the non-conformance for fit, function, safety, and reliability, and communicating with QA, Supply Chain and suppliers, as required
Completing Engineering Changes with supporting substantiation and drawing changes as required for product improvement
Provide support for customers and operators regarding our products
Participate in design reviews for supplier changes, product changes and/or improvements for production parts
Perform reviews of first article inspections and documentation for dormancy and supplier changes of production parts
Review and provide feedback to suppliers on the manufacturing process plans for production parts
Provide guidance to more junior Project Engineers on designs, methods, regulations and procedures
Develop test plans for production parts
Design tooling and/or fixtures to aide in the inspection of production parts
Other related duties may be assigned Requirements
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
EXPERIENCE
5 – 10 years aerospace / mechanical design / manufacturing experience is required
Experience using 3D CAD software (Pro-Engineer, SolidWorks, etc.)
Experience with aerospace design, testing, manufacturing and/or maintenance required
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES
Language:
English
Computer Skills:
MS Office, 3D CAD software (Pro-E, SolidWorks, etc)
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Abilities:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance and Standard Measurement & Test Equipment for Aerospace products is preferred
Knowledge of aircraft engine components, controls & accessories, and/or aircraft interiors is preferred
Knowledge of basic structural, thermal, and modal analysis of mechanical components is required
Knowledge of aerospace materials and coatings is preferred
Knowledge of conventional aerospace manufacturing methods, including; milling, turning, grinding, lapping, stamping, forging, casting, molding, EDM, ECM, welding, brazing, heat treating, etc. is required
Strong organizational skills, strict attention to details and ability to multitask and prioritize as necessary, with minimal supervisory direction.

Ability to analyze all aspects of a situation to gain thorough insight to make decisions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position will work primarily in an office environment with low noise level, but may have some exposure to the manufacturing floor which has mid to high noise level with exposure to manufacturing machinery / equipment/chemicals
